Finance Manager
About This Role
We’re seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee financial operations, ensure compliance with donor requirements, and provide strategic financial guidance to our NGO partners. This role is critical for maintaining the highest standards of fiscal responsibility while enabling effective resource allocation for maximum social impact.
What You’ll Do
Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports for internal management and external stakeholders
- Manage cash flow, investments, and banking relationships
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes
Grant & Donor Compliance
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements and grant terms across all projects
- Coordinate financial reporting for multiple grants and funding sources
- Manage grant budgets and track expenditures against approved allocations
- Liaise with donors, auditors, and regulatory authorities on financial matters
Partner Financial Support
- Provide financial guidance and capacity building to NGO partners
- Review and approve partner budgets and financial proposals
- Conduct financial assessments and due diligence for new partnerships
- Design and implement financial systems and controls for partner organizations
Strategic Financial Planning
- Develop long-term financial strategies aligned with organizational growth
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and program evaluation
- Assess financial sustainability of programs and partnerships
- Support fundraising efforts with financial projections and impact analysis
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) or Master’s in Finance/Commerce with relevant certifications
- Experience: 5-8 years in finance management, preferably in non-profit or development sector
- Compliance Knowledge: Deep understanding of FCRA, Income Tax Act, and NGO financial regulations
- Systems Proficiency: Advanced skills in accounting software, ERP systems, and financial modeling
Essential Skills
- Accounting: Expert knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and auditing
- Grant Management: Experience managing multiple grants and donor reporting requirements
- Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of FCRA, 80G, CSR, and other relevant regulations
- Technology: Proficiency in Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, and advanced Excel/Google Sheets
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) with post-qualification experience in non-profit sector
- Experience with international donors (USAID, DFID, EU, foundations)
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2)
- Knowledge of impact measurement and social return on investment (SROI)
