Communications Specialist
About This Role
Are you passionate about storytelling for social impact? We’re seeking a Communications Specialist to develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies that amplify the voices of our NGO partners and share compelling stories that drive social change, donor engagement, and community awareness.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Communications
- Develop integrated communication strategies for NGO partners and Aadyas Services
- Create compelling narratives around social impact and development initiatives
- Manage brand positioning and messaging across multiple stakeholder groups
- Coordinate crisis communication and reputation management
Content Creation & Storytelling
- Write engaging content for websites, newsletters, grants, and impact reports
- Create multimedia content including videos, podcasts, and interactive stories
- Develop case studies showcasing program impact and beneficiary stories
- Produce thought leadership articles on social sector trends and innovations
Digital Marketing & Social Media
- Manage social media presence across platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook)
- Design and implement digital marketing campaigns for awareness and fundraising
- Create and curate content calendars aligned with organizational objectives
- Monitor social media analytics and optimize content strategy based on engagement
Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate communication with donors, partners, government officials, and media
- Organize press events, webinars, and community engagement activities
- Develop and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets
- Support fundraising efforts through compelling donor communications
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
- Experience: 3-6 years in communications, marketing, or public relations
- Writing Skills: Exceptional writing and editing abilities across multiple formats
- Digital Proficiency: Experience with social media management and digital marketing tools
Essential Skills
- Content Creation: Proficiency in creating written, visual, and multimedia content
- Design Tools: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva
- Social Media: Experience managing organizational social media accounts
- Analytics: Google Analytics, social media insights, and campaign performance tracking
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Development Studies
- Experience working with non-profit organizations or social enterprises
- Knowledge of grant writing and donor communication best practices
- Multilingual capabilities (Hindi, English, and regional languages)
- Photography and videography skills
